Being in charge of writing articles about Sharp’s overseas products, I always feel that the performance required for home appliances really varies depending on the region and culture.

Among such products, one of Sharp’s new products is currently attracting attention in North America.

Sharp Home Electronics Company of America (SHCA) showcased its new product, “Celerity™ High-Speed Oven” at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show 2025 (KBIS), the largest housing equipment exhibition in North America, held in Las Vegas, USA from February 25 to 27, 2025. They also exhibited Sharp’s smart kitchen appliances packed with new technologies.

In American households, it is common to prepare special menus such as grilling a large “whole chicken” at a holiday party in their kitchens, but one issue is that it takes a long time to cook such recipes. To enable a new lifestyle where special menus can be prepared even on busy weekdays for parties and birthday celebrations, Sharp developed a high-speed oven that reduces cooking time to about one-third of the conventional time.

The Celerity™ High-Speed Oven features advanced technology that can cook a whole chicken approximately three times faster than a conventional oven^*1, perfect for a fast-paced lifestyle. The industry’s first Golden Heater^*2 rapidly reaches high temperatures, and the combination with True European Convection and inverter-controlled microwave achieves high-speed cooking and exceptional taste. In addition to speeding up cooking time, the preset menus^*3 that requires no preheating enhances convenience. It can bake a 12-inch (about 30 cm) frozen pizza in just 9 minutes! Furthermore, the inverter microwave heating ensures its performance and impressive results.

SHCA teamed up with renowned chef Stephanie Boswell, known from the American cooking show Food Network, to demonstrate the latest technology-equipped Celerity™ High-Speed Oven at the KBIS venue. Visitors enjoyed appetizing cooking demonstrations and tastings of dishes prepared by Stephanie using the Celerity™ High-Speed Oven, including focaccia with pesto and ricotta spread, lamb meatballs with tzatziki sauce, spring rolls with sweet chili sauce, and chocolate chip cookies.

In addition to the cooking demonstration of the Celerity™ High-Speed Oven, the Microwave Drawer™, ovens, dishwashers, cooktops, combination products, refrigerators, and more were exhibited.

The Celerity™ High-Speed Oven received “The Reviewed Award: KBIS 2024” last year. This year, both the Celerity™ High-Speed Oven and the Microwave Drawer™ have won the prestigious iF Design Award.^*4

Since the debut of Sharp’s built-in smart kitchen series in North America in 2020, Sharp has been developing user-friendly cooking appliances under the concept of “Simply Better Living.” The Celerity™ High-Speed Oven, which will be released in North America this year, is a new product developed to meet the needs of North American customers. However, we believe that the high-speed oven technology can be expanded globally.
