Sharp in Partnership with Tourism Malaysia to Promote Visit Truly Asia Malaysia 2020
On July 22nd, a launching ceremony for the new Visit Truly Asia Malaysia 2020 campaign logo was held by Tourism Malaysia, an agency under the Ministry of Tourism of Malaysia, at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. At the ceremony, Sharp Electronics Malaysia (SEM), a development/sales company of Sharp in Malaysia, signed a Memorandum of Joint Collaboration Partnership with Tourism Malaysia for joint production of 8K promotion video.

Malaysia aims to further strengthen its tourism industry by launching this campaign, to achieve 30 million international tourist arrivals and RM100 billion tourist receipts by the year 2020. To ensure the campaign’s success, Tourism Malaysia has exchanged Memorandum of Joint Collaboration Partnership with several private sector corporations: SEM, Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, Firefly, Malindo Air, and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad. Tourism Malaysia and its partners will conduct marketing and promotion activities together.

Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Prime Minister of Malaysia attended the event and witnessed the exchange ceremony of Memorandum of Joint Collaboration Partnership. Tun Dr. Mahathir acknowledged Sharp as being one of the biggest investors in Malaysia, and expressed his expectations that Sharp will contribute to attracting tourists from Japan as well.

With the signing of the Memorandum of Joint Collaboration Partnership, Sharp agrees to produce 8K promotion video of Visit Truly Asia Malaysia 2020 campaign with Tourism of Malaysia. The video will showcase tourism gems in Malaysia in 8K UHD reality which will overwhelm viewers.
