Sharp Electronics Indonesia (SEID) has officially launched the Sharp Hydro Heroes program in Bekasi, expanding a community empowerment initiative that first proved its value in Karawang in 2024. While the earlier edition engaged young people from the communities surrounding the company, the new program takes an approach that is more closely aligned with the needs of families.

Sharp Hydro Heroes goes beyond teaching hydroponic farming techniques. Participants also gain skills in managing their harvests, entrepreneurship and digital marketing, along with education on the importance of eating vegetables and maintaining a varied diet for their families.

Turning a Small Plot into a Learning Ground

The program makes use of a 15 x 5-meter plot of land on the grounds of SAGA Life School in Teluk Pucung Village, North Bekasi. Through hydroponics, this relatively limited space can be used to grow food crops while also serving as a learning environment for the participants.

Structured Training for 20 Participants

A total of 20 selected participants will receive a structured training program covering the basics of agriculture and hydroponics, planting and plant care techniques, the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, and the use of social media for marketing.
