Sharp Manufacturing Company of UK (SUKM) is the UK manufacturing subsidiary of Japan’s Sharp Corporation. Based in Wrexham, North Wales, SUKM has been manufacturing for Sharp and global OEM customers for over 40 years.

A Rich History and Team Dedication

The Wrexham site employs approximately 150 people across both factory and office roles.
The majority of the SUKM team have been with Sharp for more than 30 years, including one colleague who has worked at the site since the factory gates first opened.

SUKM began operations in August 1985, originally manufacturing countertop microwave and videocassette recorders (VCR). Over the decades, the factory has demonstrated its manufacturing versatility, producing a wide range of products including plain paper copiers, solar modules, and LED lighting.

Specialists in Microwave Manufacturing

Despite this versatility, microwave ovens have always been SUKM’s core product. From manufacturing Countertop microwaves from day one, the factory expanded into Fully Built‑In microwaves in 2005, followed by Semi Built‑In microwaves in 2019. The most recent addition to the portfolio is the first Microwave Drawer for the European market.

SUKM offers its customers truly bespoke microwaves. Customers have full control over design and functionality, ensuring each product perfectly aligns with their portfolio and market needs.

Quality remains at the heart of everything SUKM produces. All products undergo rigorous quality checks and adhere to strict manufacturing guidelines, ensuring they meet the highest standards before leaving the factory.

40th Anniversary and Looking to the Future

In 2025, SUKM proudly celebrated 40 years of continuous manufacturing, an exceptional milestone and a testament to the dedication, skill, and loyalty of the team.

The SUKM team is immensely proud to represent both Sharp and UK manufacturing and looks forward to continuing this legacy well into the future.
