Sharp Donates to 5 Natural Disaster in Indonesia

In 2021, Indonesia experienced various disasters in parts of Java, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi, events that caused deep sorrow to the people. Extreme weather conditions have been one of the causes of recent disasters, such as landslides that occurred in Sumedang, West Java, flash floods in 7 districts of South Kalimantan, earthquakes in Majene and Mamuju, West Sulawesi, to hot clouds of Mount Semeru & eruptions. Mount Merapi in East Java and Central Java.

In order to alleviate the suffering of the victims, who are currently living in several emergency posts and have limited access to the affected areas, PT Sharp Electronics Indonesia, through its corporate social responsibility program “Bakti Untuk Negeri: Sharp Peduli Indonesia”, will distribute aid through the non-profit Human Initiative. The program will provide assistance in the form of basic food, infant supplies, sanitation and health care, as well as blankets, masks, and tarpaulins to build temporary shelter tents.
The handover of the donations was formalized on January 28, 2021 at Sharp Indonesia’s sales office in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Andriy Adi Utomo and Tommy Hendrajati, President of the Human Initiative.
