The Quality Promotion Division holds its annual “Quality Award” during Quality Month in November, with the aim of maintaining and enhancing motivation for quality improvement activities and sharing outstanding initiatives across the company.
At the 5th Quality Award 2025, overseas manufacturing sites were also included as evaluation targets. A total of 22 themes (12 from domestic units and 10 from overseas sites) were nominated, having been reviewed and selected within each BU/site from 8 domestic BUs and 10 overseas sites. Evaluation was conducted through a panel review by judges as well as a general vote by all domestic employees.
The award ceremony was held on February 6 (Friday) at the Sakai Office, where award certificates were presented by President Okitsu to the winning teams, including the overseas award-winning team (NSEC).
At the award ceremony, President Okitsu expressed his appreciation for the proactive quality improvement activities that each division carried out. He also commented that, in order to succeed in global competition going forward, it is necessary to move beyond the stage of simply “improving quality” and aim for the stage of consistently “maintaining high quality,” and encouraged the business divisions and manufacturing sites to work closely together and continuously promote these initiatives.

In addition to the award ceremony, this year a “Results Presentation Session” by the award-winning teams was held as one of the management study session themes. Total 118 participants from 10 venues attended the session. Each team shared the background, ingenuity, and results of their daily improvement activities aimed at enhancing quality and customer satisfaction, providing a valuable opportunity for knowledge sharing.
Participants commented that they were able to learn excellent examples from other divisions, which raised their awareness of quality improvement, and that the sessions were highly educational and could be applied to their own work. The sessions are planned to be held again next year, and all employees are encouraged to participate.
Furthermore, at the networking session held after the award ceremony and results presentation, many participants shared positive feedback, such as having meaningful conversations with President Okitsu and valuable interactions with members from other departments. Many commented that it was a very worthwhile opportunity.
Going forward, all company-wide quality departments and BU-related departments will continue to work together as one to promote quality improvement, ensuring that customers will continue to use our products with confidence. The award results for each category are shown below. Details of initiatives for this year and past years across each BU and overseas site can be found on the Quality Promotion Division website.
