Sharp Indonesia Shares Smiles and Happiness Through Sharp Bersedekah
The COVID-19 outbreak really changed the old tradition of Ramadan in Indonesia. This year, Muslims are required to learn health protocols such as staying at home, not being able to pray at the mosque, or iftar (meal eaten by Muslims after sunset during Ramadan) with friends and relatives, to cut the spread of COVID-19.

Sharp Bersedekah Theme
Because of the large-scale social restrictions (known as PSBB in Indonesia), making a charity event during Ramadan also seems unlikely. P.T. Sharp Electronics Indonesia (SEID) saw this situation and initiated a charity event called “Sharp Bersedekah” to quench their thirst in charity during Ramadan. This program invites consumers to donate virtually by interacting with #Sharpbersedekah video post, such as like, share, and repost from @sharpindonesia Facebook and Instagram accounts. Every 1 engagement will be converted into a donation consisting of 1 Box of Happiness and 1 Basic Food Supply package for orphans in 5 big cities, namely Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, Banjarmasin, and Makassar.

The Box of Happiness
Together with Box of Happiness containing takjil food for breaking the fast and masks with smiling faces, SEID also donated food packages for 5 orphanages. A total 1,000 boxes of happiness and 5 packages of Basic Food Supplies (1 city each) were donated. The charity event was held simultaneously on Friday, May 22, 2020, and was broadcasted via Digital Channel Live Instagram. This action is part of a series of CSR activity to commemorate SEID’s 50th anniversary in 2020.

Mr Agus Soewadjie along with Mr Pandu Setio opened the event through live digital with Human Initiatives representative Mr Mardi Suhendra.
