Sharp has manufactured and marketed calculators since 1964, making this the 56th year we introduce this product.

At first, there were many challenges to sell the calculators, since Sharp was selling mainly radios back then,

so our salespersons developed sales routes by calling stores utilizing office applications one by one, looking them up in a phone book. The calculator was first introduced in Japan and then to U.S., and its quality has been approved all around the world ever since.

 

This time we are proud to hear from Sharp Middle East Free Zone Establishment (SMEF) about a customer who has been using our printing calculator for over 40 years in South Africa.The customer contacted us in need of a cover part of the calculator, but unfortunately due to its age, we were not able to provide one.

In return to express our gratitude to the customer’s loyalty for over all these years, SMEF delivered a new calculator instead. Based on this episode, we were able to create this short video with the customer letting us know his ideas behind the event.
