ENVIRONMETAL EDUCATION
Strengthening its commitment towards creating a sustainable future for the present and future generations, Sharp (Phils.) Corporation (SPC) has partnered with ‘I am SAM’ (Shakers and Movers) of Pedro E. Diaz High School, a student organization that promotes ‘Zero Plastic’, conducted an Environmental Education to 55 student leaders and 60 parents and teachers of Pedro E. Diaz High School in Alabang, Muntinlupa City last October 11, 2019. Through the joint endeavor, SPC aims to spread awareness around the hazard of plastic waste accumulation and its effective and efficient management.

DENGUE AWARENESS
Dengue fever continues to be a major public health problem in Philippines, with significant impact on children. The Department of Health (DOH) reported an increase in dengue cases in 10 out of the 17 local government units (LGUs) in the National Capital Region (NCR) including Muntinlupa City in 2019.
SPC held a seminar on overview of dengue control and awareness measures required to combat the disease. A detailed lecture was delivered by SPC Company Physician covering all aspects regarding spread, prevention and control of dengue fever. During the seminar, SPC was given the opportunity to showcase its Air Purifier with Mosquito Catcher to the teachers, parents and students of Pedro E. Diaz High School. The audience appreciated how the product captures mosquito that may carry the Dengue virus.
Dengue viruses are spread to people through the bite of an infected Aedes species (Ae. aegypti or Ae. albopictus) mosquito.
