Sharp returned to  the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show April 6-11, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada after making its inaugural visit in 2018. With its theme, “8K World is Coming Here,” Sharp brought its extensive array of 8K ecosystem solutions to the world’s largest broadcasting equipment exhibition.

Among the products showcased was the highly anticipated Sharp compact 8K video camera, which was such a huge hit that it took home NAB Best of Show honors! Vloggers and members of the media kept the recording and editing areas in the Sharp booth consistently full as they packed the booth to see the camera and participate in live 8K demonstrations, which included:

  • 8K local self-broadcasting system, which is perfect for use at sporting venues and other public facilities.
  • Demonstration of 8K internet website distribution, showcasing the benefits of 8K for filming and editing blog content.
  • IP transmission of 8K images filmed at the NAB booth for Astro Design, one of Sharp’s collaborators.

At last count, stories about the compact 8K video camera generated from the event had generated nearly 200,000 views on YouTube and more than 45,000 impressions on Twitter.

On NAB opening night, Sharp hosted a packed 8K tech media event with 38 total attendees, including 14 reporters and analysts. Mike Marusic, President & CEO, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America, kicked off the event with welcome remarks, followed by words from Cliff Quiroga, Vice President, New Business Development, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. They were followed by presentations from professional video producers who had used Sharp’s 8K camera: Robert Alberino, Jr., Vice President and Executive Producer, San Francisco 49ers; Matt Granger, professional photographer and videographer; and Frank Lieberman, President of NY2C New York Entertainment & News.
