After bringing together hundreds of participants through Sharp Run For The Future, PT Sharp Electronics Indonesia (SEID) has shown how one community event can keep creating positive impact long after the finish line. On July 8, 2026, SEID held a tree-planting ceremony at Eagle Java Conservation in Mount Halimun Salak National Park, Bogor, Indonesia, as a follow-up program titled \u201cFrom Every Step, A Forest Grows.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea was simple and meaningful: each runner\u2019s step would be turned into a real contribution to nature. As part of the program\u2019s \u201cone runner = one tree\u201d commitment, Sharp Indonesia planted 600 endemic Rasamala trees to support the restoration of forest habitat for the Javan hawk-eagle, an endemic bird of Java and a conservation symbol in Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFrom Every Step, A Forest Grows\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five runner representatives and three Sharp Indonesia representatives joined the ceremony. In addition to planting trees, participants learned about the natural habitat of the Javan hawk-eagle and visited conservation facilities at the site. The activity offered participants a chance to see how restoring forests can help protect wildlife and strengthen local ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rasamala tree was selected because it is closely associated with humid hill and mountain forests in western Java. The species is known for supporting biodiversity, helping prevent erosion, and contributing to soil conservation. By planting 600 trees, Sharp Indonesia aims to let the energy of Sharp Run For The Future continue growing into a living forest for future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*1 Rasamala: A local name for Altingia excelsa, an evergreen tree native to parts of Southeast Asia, including Indonesia. In Java, the species is found mainly in humid hill and mountain forests in the western part of the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
