Hon Hai Technology Group (FOXCONN) Chairman Mr. Young Liu visited Sharp Corporation (hereinafter \u201cSharp\u201d) Sakai Headquarters during Monday, July 3 to Wednesday, July 5. Business representatives and headquarter representatives gathered to share ideas from various perspectives on how to develop Sharp in the future, and also a discussion session with mid-career employees who will lead the company in the future to gather opinions from their perspectives as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharp celebrates its 111th anniversary since its foundation in 1912. Over these years, based on its spirit of \u201cSincerity and Creativity\u201d, Sharp has delivered numerous world-first and Japan-first products to enrich people\u2019s living. The visit was made to share understanding on Sharp\u2019s corporate culture, purpose, and business domain that form the basis of the company, and exchange ideas business directions for its growth into the next era. These are essential factors for Sharp to continue to create excellent products, services, and solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the three days, topics including the future of Sharp, ideal status of Brand Businesses and Device Businesses, plans for Japan market and Global market, and future relations between Sharp and Foxconn were discussed, along with exchanging ideas with headquarter representatives on how headquarter sections support business sections. On the final day, approximately 150 mid-career employees joined a meeting with Chairman Liu to share open thoughts and questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a summary, Chairman Liu gave encouraging comments as \u201cI feel Sharp is facing an extremely important phase right now. When I thought of the future of Sharp, the first image that came to my mind was \u201ctechnology.\u201d Through our discussions, I felt Sharp has many attractive technologies. I look forward to everyone to overcome this difficult situation by gathering wisdom to raise speed and recover trust from inside and outside the company. As Foxconn, I would also like to consider how to support Sharp\u2019s developments by creating synergy effect.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
