Sharp Tokusen Industries has been carrying out social contribution activities as part of its corporate social responsibility, inheriting the founder Tokuji Hayakawa’s passion for supporting people with disabilities.

In collaboration with the ESG & Quality Promotion Department, we have been conducting career education support activities to assist in the employment of individuals with disabilities. As part of these efforts, we have cooperated with the Osaka Prefectural Board of Education in their career and vocational education initiatives (in business partnership with D&I, Inc.) aimed at promoting the social independence of children and students attending prefectural support schools.

On January 30th, we welcomed 9 individuals, including three middle school students and their families, along with coordinators from D&I, Inc. to Sharp Tokusen Industries for a company tour. D&I, Inc. expressed their appreciation, stating, “In addition to work experiences that enhance understanding of general employment, your company, which accepts many interns, has a grasp of the gap between support schools and general employment. You were able to convey this gap as a ‘hint’ to the students and their guardians in an understandable way, which will surely be beneficial for their future considerations.”

Furthermore, in recognition of our contribution to fostering the students’ motivation for employment and supporting their future social independence, we received a certificate of appreciation from the Osaka Prefectural Board of Education for the second consecutive year on March 26th.

We will continue to cooperate so that the students can have a more concrete image of their future selves, and learn towards their dreams and goals.
