On September 8, Sharp held an event to introduce developments in Health, Medical and Nursing Business. Media were invited to join the event with Sakai headquarters as the main venue and using LINC Biz webinar service to connect remote attendees.

Senior Executive Managing Officer, Head of ICT Group Youichi Tsusue presented Sharp will develop business in the field of Health, which is one the eight fields Sharp will emphasize its business to realize the Business Vision “Changing the World with 8K+5G and AIoT.”

In the announcement, Mr. Tsusue explained the conventional business development centered around protecting healthy living with Plasmacluster devices and surveillance devices etc. In the future, Sharp will transform  its business to further support health and nursing sites to realize a society where people can live enjoying more health and luxury.

With the above recognized, Mr. Tsusue explained Sharp’s strengths in core technologies in 8K, 5G, AI, IoT and robotics, along with various devices and sensor technology and sales channels. In addition, Sharp will develop its business domain to support the safety and efficiency of health and nursing workers  to its currently strong health related devices and services targeted for individual consumers.

Remote corresponding solution raised as an example of future application

In the Q&A session, Executive Managing Officer, Corporate Research & Development BU President Mototaka Taneya explained the significance of Sharp emphasizing its plan to strengthen business in health, medical and nursing areas. Currently, digital transformation (DX) is rapidly proceeding in these  areas as well, and is reaching a large turning point to raise business efficiency. Also, from the belief that Sharp can contribute more to society in addition to the well accepted production of surgical masks, Sharp aims to gather forces inside the company and enter each field together with related parties to create solutions together.
