P.T. Sharp Semiconductor Indonesia (SSI) conducted the 25th Sharp Green Club under the theme “Plant Mangroves To Save Our Coast”.  It was held on Thursday, July 11th, 2019 with 37 companies in Karawang district in collaboration along with DLHK (Indonesian Environmental and Hygiene office) of Karawang.

The planting of mangroves was held in commemoration of the “2019 World Environment Day”.

Stakeholders such as DLHK,  villagers of Sukakerta and Sukajaya village, Karawang regent and her subordinate participated in the event. 40,000 mangrove trees of  Avicennia mucronata,  Rhizopora marina and Bruguiera cylindrica planted at two plants, namely in the Village of Sukakerta  in the District of Cilamaya Wetan and the village of Pasirputih Sukajaya in the District of Cilamaya Kulon. This activity serves as a real action to save Cilamaya coast, which has been damaged by abrasion.

Karawang Regent Cellica Nurrachadiana mentioned in her opening speech on her hopes of the planted mangrove trees to grow well, as they will guard the coastline from abrasion. And hopefully,  what we plant today can contribute to save the lives of our next generation in the future, which also becomes a reward for all of us.

By getting involved in this environmental protection activity, we hope it can grow up our spirit to take care of the environment and to apply the consciouness in our daily lives. This way, we can realize harmony between human beings and the environment.

Our actions today to plant mangroves leads to the mind, We take care nature… and nature will take care of us.
