On May 9, Chairman, President and CEO of Sharp Corporation J.W. Tai was invited to deliver a keynote speech at The 2019 World Conference on Ultra HD Video (4K/8K) Industry held in Guangzhou, P.R. China. This annual event sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Tech and Guangzhou government is aimed for international cooperation and interaction of various related parties while introducing recent developments to urge further sustainable growth and innovation in the Ultra HD Video (4K/8K) industry.

Chairman Tai introduced Sharp’s history as being a pioneer of 8K development, up to recent solutions including award-winning displays and camcorder products, along with its recent activities linking with 5G technology.

Sharp’s development of 8K + 5G can be sorted to 8 major scenes in our life: Family and Social, Education, Entertainment, Work, Security, Healthcare, eCommerce & eMoney, and Circular Economy & Transportation Security (Internet of Vehicles).
